FAQ

Questions You Might Have

How much does a CPA cost?

CPA fees vary based on your needs. Business tax returns typically range from $800 to $2,500 depending on complexity. Individual returns start around $350. We offer free consultations to provide accurate pricing for your specific situation.

What's the difference between a CPA and a regular accountant?

CPAs are licensed by the state after passing rigorous exams and meeting education requirements. We can represent you before the IRS, prepare audited financial statements, and provide expert tax planning.

Can you help me if I owe back taxes to the IRS?

Yes. As a CPA, I represent clients in audits, penalty abatement cases, and tax debt negotiations. We've helped business owners reduce tax debt by 60% or more through proper representation and negotiation strategies.

Do you only work with businesses or do you help individuals too?

We serve both. Many of our business owner clients also use us for their personal taxes because we understand how business and personal finances connect. We also work with Utah families, retirees, and individuals with complex tax situations.

What if I'm behind on my bookkeeping?

It's more common than you think. We specialize in catch-up bookkeeping for businesses. We'll clean up your books, get you current, and set up systems so you stay on track. Most clients are caught up within 30 to 60 days.

How can you help me pay less in taxes legally?

Through year-round tax planning. We identify deductions you're missing, optimize your business structure (LLC vs S-Corp), time income and expenses strategically, maximize retirement contributions, and leverage Utah-specific tax credits. Most clients save 3 to 5 times our fee annually.

Do I need to come to your office or can we work remotely?

Both options work. We have an office in American Fork for in-person meetings, but most clients prefer to work remotely using secure file sharing and video calls.

When should I reach out? Is tax season too late?

The best time is now. Tax planning works best when done proactively throughout the year, not in April. Even if you just need filing help, we take on new clients year-round. The sooner we start, the more money we can save you.

What industries do you work with in?

We work with construction companies, real estate investors, retail businesses, professional services, tech startups, healthcare practices, restaurants, and e-commerce businesses. Every industry has unique tax considerations and we've seen most of them.

Will you handle my payroll?

Yes. We offer full-service payroll including tax filing, direct deposit, W-2 and 1099 preparation, and compliance. We take the headache out of payroll so you can focus on your team, not paperwork.
